On October 29, 2014 (Wednesday) executive members the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) met with CTO Forum at their Panthapath office. President and Treasurer of CTO Forum Bangladesh, Tapan Kanti Sarkar and Dr.Ijazul Haque, CRISC, ITLF, cordially welcomed e-CAB members.
The officials discussed about the current condition of e-Commerce sector of Bangladesh and how the two organizations can work together to improve this sector. Razib Ahmed and Md. Abdul Wahed Tomal, the President and the General Secretary of e-CAB, informed them about the association’s objectives and activities. CTO Forum highly appreciated e-CAB’s initiatives.
Tapan Kanti Sarkar said, “Banks play a very important role in e-Commerce. The youth of our country are tech savvy and they are very eager to embrace e-Commerce but due to various problems they are afraid to shop online. This is a very tragic scenario. I believe that e-CAB will change this condition and ensure the growth of the e-Commerce sector.”
Shezan Shams, Director (Corporate Affairs) called for more co-operation between banks and e-Commerce companies.
e-CAB and CTO Forum agreed to organize various events such as seminars, discussion sessions, round-table sessions together to spread awareness and solve the problems of this sector.
