e-CAB and Jatiya Mahila Sangstha Agree to work together to empower women through e-Commerce
On October 14, 2014 (Tuesday) Executive Members of the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) paid a courtesy visit at the office of the Jatiya Mohila Sangstha (JMS). The team sat with Professor Momtaz Begum, Chairman, JMS.

e-CAB discussed about the conditions of e-Commerce and how e-Commerce can further empower Bangladeshi women.

Professor Momtaz Begum expressed her satisfaction with the goals and objectives of e-CAB and said, “Half the population of Bangladeshi is women. Our honorable Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasia, is women and she is determined to improve the condition of women in Bangladesh. Under the “Digital Bangladesh” initiative of the current government, JMS is providing computer training to women in 64 districts of the country. e-Commerce will help rural women to sell their products and services thus improving their economic condition. It will be a blessing for them.”

Both organizations pledged to work towards empowering women through e-Commerce. Among others,Sarder Md. Aminul Islam Director (Deputy Secretary), JMS was present in the meeting.

e-CAB EC Meet Mustafa Jabbar

The Executive Committee of e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) paid a courtesy visit to the eminent ICT personality and industry leader Mr. Mustafa Jabbar. The e-CAB EC members requested Mr. Jabbar to become the advisor of the newly formed e-commerce Association. Mr. Jabbar gave his kind consent and assured of all support and guidance to e-CAB.
Mustafa Jabbar is the former President of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS). He is also the creator of the most popular Bangla Software called Bijoy. His Bijoy Bangla Keyboard is the most widely used keyboard among Bengali Language speakers.
The e-CAB members also requested Mustafa Jabbar to be present at the launching ceremony of the Association.

e-CAB EC Pays a Courtesy Visit to N I Khan

The Executive Committee members of e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) recently paid a courtesy visit to Mr. N I Khan, Secretary of Education Ministry. The e-CAB members requested the secretary to take various steps to promote the e-commerce sector in the country. Mr. Khan assured the delegation of e-CAB of full cooperation.
N I Khan was the former Secretary of ICT Division and MOICT. During his tenure as Secretary of MOICT and ICT Division, N I Khan generously supported the e-commerce sector. He stated that e-commerce has bright future in the country and all the business organizations would have to make the best use of it. He also stressed the importance of building awareness among mass people about e-commerce.
The e-CAB delegates requested N I Khan to ensure that the students of this country can know about e-commerce so that they can prepare themselves for careers in this sector.

Md. Sabur Khan meets with e-CAB

On October 16, 2014 (Thursday), e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) Executive Committee members met with Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil Group. e-CAB members congratulated Md. Sabur Khan on his being elected as the Chairman of Global Trade Committee of World IT & Services Alliances (WITSA).

Sabur Khan highly praised the initiatives of e-CAB. He encourage the members to go ahead and spread e-Commerce all over the country. Sharing his experience with the members, Mr. Sabur Khan said, “I started my e-Commerce organization back in the 90s. However, there was severe lack of necessary infrastructures back then. I hope that the landscape has changed a lot since then. ”

Mr. Khan assured e-CAB to provide necessary support and guidance.

Md. Sabur Khan is a well-known person in ICT sector of Bangladesh. Throughout his career, he served in different capabilities in some of the top associations of the country. He is a former president of Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS). He is also the immediate past President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce (DCCI). He is the current chairman Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University.
